HTC HD 2 Review
Here is our latest review on the HTC HD2 handset. Like all others we tested this phone for 3 days to get an honest opinion of the handset!
We give the HTC HD2 a Review Score of 96%.
We recommend the HTC HD2 handset for age 11+.
HTC, if you do not know, has helped in the production of smartphones. They helped other mobile phone manufacturers but this did not stop them from releasing their own line of top of the line smartphones.

Review HTC HD 2 Looks (Max 20 Points)
Call it cunning or playing loose with business ethics but we like the results (the HTC handsets) of their actions. In fact, it is with great pleasure that we give you our HTC HD 2 review. Large, fast, and smart, we are sure that you will be impressed with this handset as we were.
Okay, we know that some people will not be happy with the fact that this handset look more like a tablet than a mobile phone. Measuring 120.5 x 67 x 11 mm, we know that the HTC HD 2 handset is large. However, we can forgive this part because we everything placed in the physical hardware just impresses the living daylights out of us. First off, you have the glass-covered capacitive touchscreen that measures 4.3 inches. Secondly, the five hardware buttons below the screen are beautifully designed and classy. Spin the mobile around and you have the camera lens right above the battery cover. Overall, a well-built and stylish mobile.
13 Points Features -
Review HTC HD 2 Features (Max 15 Points) From the looks, let's move on to the features. This handset has a capacitive touchscreen with accelerometer, EDGE, GPRS, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, microUSB, a 5MP camera, stereo FM radio with RDS, digital compass, media player, pocket office, and games. So yes, this handset got you covered from serious mobile tasks to entertainment. No full points, though, because there is no dedicated camera key and we would have enjoyed a secondary camera for making video calls. No DivX/XviD video support, either. The latter would have made sense due to the large screen.
9 Points Ease of Use -
Review HTC HD 2 Ease Of Use (Max 10 Points) We have no major complaints on this aspect of the HTC HD 2 handset. From the get go, we were impressed with how easy it is to navigate the mobile. The sensitive touchscreen surely helped us along the way.
5 Points Battery -
Review HTC HD 2 Battery (Max 5 Points) The battery gives you up to more than 5 hours of talk time on 3G. For the days that we had the handset with us, we were happy to find out that it could last more than a day even with heavy tinkering. We must state at this point that we played music, videos, went online, and downloaded a lot of apps. The battery performed well.
5 Points Applications -
Review HTC HD 2 Applications (Max 5 Points) Since this is a Windows Mobile handset, there is a sea of wonderful apps for you to enjoy. We must admit that we were already pretty happy with the preloaded apps. These were the MP3 Trimmer, RSS Reader, Wi-Fi Router, HTC Peep, World Card Mobile, Facebook, Bing, Jetcet Print, and Streaming Media manager. There was also a pre-installed YouTube app. You are probably mostly concerned about social networking apps and we tell you that the Facebook and Peep apps did not disappoint.
4 Points Internet -
Review HTC HD 2 Internet User Experience (Max 5 Points) Unfortunately, we found out while doing this HTC HD 2 review that the browsers of this handset do not make for a full-on memorable browsing experience. For one, the Opera browser does not have Flash. You can use the IE browser but Flash-supported sites will not work properly.
5 Points Internet Speed -
Review HTC HD 2 Internet Speed & Connection (Max 3 Points) With all types of connectivity you'll ever need, the HTC HD 2 handset will not disappoint. There is fast 3G and a reliable WiFi support if you are in a hotspot. If you are sensible enough to get a pay monthly plan that will give you mobile Internet service, you will be using this handset for surfing a lot.
5 Points Texting -
Review HTC HD 2 Text Messaging Experience (Max 5 Points) Texting is undoubtedly pure joy with the HTC HD 2 handset. On portrait mode, you can choose an alpha-numeric keypad or the full QWERTY one. The latter will not be a problem even if you have large-ish fingers because the screen is large. On landscape, the full QWERTY keypad worked rather well with a well-spaced and positioned text field.
10 Points Menu -
Review HTC HD 2 Menu Usability / Controllability (Max 10 Points) You know, if we could give more than 10 points for this area, we would. Since this handset is a Windows Mobile, it comes equipped with TouchFLO. This means that the user interface is just an absolute beauty to behold. Yes, it's easy to use and manage as well. We sure appreciated the different tabs and how they made using the mobile much, much better.
10 Points Features Usability -
Review HTC HD 2 Main Feature Usability (Max 10 Points) Making calls, text messaging, emailing, and managing files were easy. So were using the camera, the media player, and the browser. GPS navigation was even a breeze.
96 Total Points Review -
Final Thoughts on the HTC HD 2 We cannot love this mobile enough and we are sure that you will be happy with it if you get a great pay monthly plan. The size may be a big deal to you, but trust, us everyone who sees you using it will be thoroughly impressed. Impressing others aside, this mobile will surely make your life, whether you are a professional or just a gadget enthusiast, easier.
