HTC Desire Review
Here is our latest review on the HTC Desire handset. Like all others we tested this phone for 3 days to get an honest opinion of the handset!

We give the HTC Desire a Review Score of 93%. We recommend the HTC Desire handset for age 11+.

The HTC Desire is a genuine top of the line touch screen phone. The HTC Desire Features are outstanding and at the time of this review some of the best we have experienced within the touch screen phone world. This really is a handset that you just want to get out of your pocket and fiddle around with.

20 Points Looks - Review HTC Desire Looks (Max 20 Points)
Instantly on opening the packaging of the HTC Desire Handset I fell in love with its appearance. Normally with a handset I need to get the battery in and the phone fired up to get the lighting effect etc from the screen.

htc desire handset 15 Points Features – Review HTC Desire Features (Max 15 Points)
Gadget fans get the HTC Desire Handset ordered! This handset sure impressed me with the list of features. Camera (5MP), Internet, Bluetooth, Widgets, Social Networking, Music, Radio (lots of formats for Audio), Windows, GPS, Wifi, External Memory, and many more!

The camera is of excellent quality, Geotag, Face detection, Auto Focus, Widscreen Option and Fantastic Flash. Video record and playback is simply amazing!

9 Points Ease of Use – Review HTC Desire Ease Of Use (Max 10 Points)
4 out of 5 points is 20% away from top marks here. As we review only on full marks that sounds a little extreme and we are being unkind at this point. The widgets makes the HTC Desire handset simple to use from the main menu, however, scrolling for options that we did not place can be a little frustrating. Without doubt when you would have this handset for a longer period of time you ability to use it will be like a hot knife through butter.

4 Points Battery – Review HTC Desire Battery (Max 5 Points)
The battery is excellent on standby and uses no juice, HTC State it has around a 15 day standby life. On using some of the windows applications I found battery life started to ooze away. This was nothing to concern myself as the handset could still do a full days work before needing to look for a charger.

5 Points Applications Review HTC Desire Applications (Max 5 Points)
Any phone that has access to Android applications is probably going to score top marks. I downloaded the Google Translate application and had fantastic fun with it. This app is outstanding if you are travelling as you can instantly translate many different languages. Type in ‘plain big mac meal’ if you are a plain eater but a McDonalds fan and you select the country you are in to translate to. If you can pronounce it you can simple show the phone to the employee! The amounts of games available through the adroid apps is fantastic. The old style games such as slide puzzle are available and are great for eating up time on the train or other forms of public transport. I could have spent this whole time gamming on the ‘HTC Desire Handset’

HTC Handsets where made for widows and Android Apps. The HTC Desire will do all you will ever need and more!

4 Points Internet - HTC Internet User Experience Review(Max 5 Points)
I love internet access on a mobile phone, however, I always get to the point I need to set it down. I visited all the popular places online from Wikipedia – Ebay and my experience was as good as with the iphone. I found a lot of sites didn’t display in the proper manor, however, this is a webmasters fault rather than the Handsets. I cant put my finger on why I didn’t want to award 5 points for the HTC Desire, other than the uncomfortable ability of surfing the web on a phone.

Instant messaging and accessing email was a total breeze and worthy or top marks against any handset.

3 Points Internt Speed – HTC Desire Internet Speed & Connection Review (Max 3 Points)
My connection went down on a few occossions, however, this was indoors and a network fault rather than a handset fault. Speed was as fast as my laptop on my home broadband!

2 Points Texting - HTC Desire Text Messaging Experience (Max 5 Points)
Touch phone texting can be a nightmare. The HTC Desire text ability is fine, however, it is a personal preference of mine to prefer a keyboard phone for texting. Yet, do not let this put you of, my day to day phone is a Blackberry Bold 9700 so I am comparing perhaps unfairly. As a touch screen phone texting ability I would give the HTC Desire Handset 4 points.

10 Points Menu – Review HTC Desire Menu Usability / Controllability (Max 10 Points)
One word. Fantastic. The New Menu button on the bottom of the HTC Desire makes this phone in a league of its own. The Touch screen is perfectly balanced for scowling through the different menus. No time delays or slip ups. The HTC Desire Menu is fun to work with and simple to find your way around.

10 Points Features Usability – HTC Desire Main Feature Usability (Max 10 Points)
For the HTC Desire There are several main features. I don’t feel the need to list the features. In the HTC Desire your getting a handset that is easy to work with and responsive. The Camera, GPS, Window and Android APPs all work with ease and intergrades well within the ‘HTC Desire Handset’

10 Points Enjoyment – HTC Desire Reviewers Enjoyment (Max 10 Points)
The HTC Desire is a handset that I enjoyed endlessly. Having photos beside the contacts is excellent but becoming common place in the latest Smartphones. I enjoyed every aspect with the HTC Desire except text messaging. Without doubt I would be happy to have this phone for a 2 year period on contract.

    Loved!!

93% Review - Final Thought on Our HTC Desire Review.
With contract deals kicking around with unlimited texts and 500MB internet Data from as low as £25 the HTC Desire Handset is a Bargain! Getting this handset means you must have internet on your contract term to enjoy its features to the max.

Finishing the review of the 'HTC Desire handset' was a bit like the Monday morning feeling when you had been away for a nice weekend break. I loved the handset and wanted to play around with it some more. The Android APPs now available for most HTC touch Phones are fantastic. This new wave of phone really is more than a phone. When you become savvy with the Desire it will help organise you as a person. I do believe if you get this handset on contract on even a 2 year plan you would still be happy with it after the term.
